Enrolling your child in a preschool is a significant decision, and we understand your desire for the best. Online registration for classes starting in September typically opens in January. We also hosts tours prior to registration in order for families to meet our teachers, The tours provides an opportunity to view our school environment and ask any questions. Registration may also be possible after January depending on enrolment. Please visit our registration and fee page or contact us for more details.

Yes, registration is available throughout the year subject to availability. Please contact us for availability.

No, children do not have to be toilet-trained before starting school at Learn and Play Preschool Academy, however, teachers do not have the facilities or availability to do diaper changes during class times. All parents should send a change of clothes in their children’s backpack, as we recognize that accidents do happen!

Parents and guardians are responsible for sending their children with a healthy snack, such as cut up fruit, cheese slices, and/or crackers. Items such as popcorn, hard candies, and snacks containing toothpicks and skewers are not allowed for safety reasons. We are a nut-free environment and also accommodate allergies that are specific to your child’s classroom. You will be notified if there is a classroom allergy apart from nuts that requires you to modify the snack you send.

Please send the snack in a clearly labelled container that your child can open and close independently. Include a water bottle or drink that closes securely, and that your child can operate. Remember to send items such as spoons and napkins if required.

At Preschool in NW Calgary, we believe an inclusive and diverse classroom is the best way for all children to learn. We have partnered with Step by Step Early Intervention and welcomed aides or other supports into the classroom. For this reason, the specific needs of your child and circumstances are best discussed with the teachers PRIOR to registration to ensure that this Preschool in Calgary can provide the optimal learning environment for your child. Yes, Child’s Play accepts subsidies from the government of Alberta. In order to register please visit www.alberta.ca. If you are applying for a subsidy, please inform Mrs. Rosangela De Vincenzo.

Mrs. Rosangela will need a copy of your confirmation letter.

Children attending our program are strongly encouraged to bring indoor/ outdoor shoes, a water bottle and weather appropriate clothing. Snacks can be brought daily in back pack

It is important to keep your child home for the day if they are not feeling well. If you know that your child will not be at preschool, please make sure to let one of the teachers know. You can do this by emailing, calling the centre or messaging via the Bloomz App.

Yes, Learn and Play Preschool is licensed by Alberta Children’s Services for Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten programs.

At Learn and Play Preschool we maintain a 1:10 teacher/student ratio. This exceeds the provincial government ratios of children 3 yrs and older ratio of 1:12. 

No, parent volunteers are not mandatory. We do welcome all parents in the classroom, if you wish to volunteer there is a calendar that is shared at the beginning of the year and you may sign up on a day that is convenient for you.

We require any parent volunteering in our classroom to have a completed a police check (or equivalent) that includes a vulnerable sector search. Please click here to apply for your Police Clearance Check. https://policeinformationcheck.calgarypolice.ca/

Learn and Play Preschool supports a peanut/tree nut free environment. Snacks are brought from home and monitored daily.

At Preschool in NW Calgary, parents receive a newsletter of events and activities at the beginning of every month along with a slideshow of pictures from the previous month. 

In fact, there is register before February 1st and receive 50% off your registration fee.
